Giving Tuesday

Thank you all for participating and donating money to this beautiful cause.
With your help, we've raised almost $3,000, which will go into building a Family Home for children diagnosed with cancer.

As part of our sales promotion that offers 15% off storewide Nov 23-27,
MagicLinen will also donate $5 from each order placed between Black Friday and Giving Tuesday
to Mothers' Union, a local charity that takes care of children diagnosed with cancer.

The donations will go towards building Family Home, a facility that provides free temporary housing
to families of children being treated for oncological diseases. Learn more about it below...

About Family Home

Each year, about a hundred Lithuanian children are diagnosed with cancer. While 80% of them successfully recover, the healing process is difficult and can take up to three years. During that time, only one family member is allowed to stay with the child in the hospital. Family Home enables families of children affected by cancer to live together throughout the treatment and rehabilitation process.

The Family Home will feature 10 mini apartments, rehabilitation, and sports centers, therapy and game rooms, information center for parents and on-site pediatric, psychological, and other medicinal help. The project is inspired by similar facilities abroad, such as Ronald McDonald’s House and Sick Children’s Trust. The estimated worth of this project is $2,8 million and the execution is fueled entirely by private donations.

About Mothers' Union

Mothers’ Union (Mamu Unija) is a Lithuanian charity foundation that takes care of children diagnosed with cancer. Established in 2008, Mothers’ Union provides psychological assistance, advice on treatment and rehabilitation, as well as financial support to children affected by oncological diseases and their families. Through public projects and initiatives, Mothers’ Union aims to shatter stereotypes around people diagnosed with cancer and foster stronger philanthropic traditions in Lithuania.
