How to Remove Water Stains from Linen Curtains?

  • Linen curtains are very popular among people due to their gorgeous natural look and pretty easy maintenance. We recommend checking out our white linen curtains;
  • Linen fabric, on the other hand, is considered a delicate material, meaning that there are some important things you should know before you wash it;
  • In the article below you’ll be introduced to one of the easiest ways of removing water stains from the linen curtain.

Water stains are annoying. They appear almost inevitably and look messy on your fancy linen curtains. If your curtains hang beside a poorly insulated window and raindrops can come through it easily every time it starts to rain - it would be much easier for you to learn how to remove water stains from the linen curtains than to fight with the rain. Don’t you agree?

Luckily, removing water stains from the linen curtains is totally untroublesome. However, since the linen fabric is pretty delicate - it won’t be as easy as to drop it in the washing machine.

Removing Water Stains from Linen Curtains

There are just a very few and simple things you’ll need for this process:

  • 1 bucket or plastic bin;
  • 1 cup of laundry detergent;
  • 1 bottle of distilled white vinegar;
  • and...a handful of patience!

Process of Removing Water Stains from Linen Curtains

  1. Prepare the Cleaning Solution. Mixing the cleaning solution where your linen curtains will have to be soaked in is easy as 123. Simply take a bucket or any plastic container big enough for the curtains to fit in, and fill it with the whole bottle of vinegar
  2. Soak the Linen Curtains In. This step is even easier than the first one. After the cleaning solution with distilled white vinegar is made, take your curtains and soak them in the solution. Now, use your patience and let it sink for an hour.
  3. Take the Curtains Out of the Solution. After one hour, remove the curtains from the mixture and squeeze out all of the excess liquid. Make sure you do it carefully.
  4. Soak the Linen Curtains Again. Now it’s time to get rid of white vinegar leftovers completely. Pour all of the vinegar solutions out of the bucket and fill it with clean warm water. Then, dissolve a cup of laundry detergent into the water and soak your curtains in this new solution. Again, be patient and let it sit for up to one hour.
  5. Rinse and Dry the Linen Curtains. Now it’s time for the last step - rinsing out your curtains completely. So, take out your curtains from the water-laundry detergent solution, squeeze the excess liquid out completely and rinse the curtains off with the warm water. After rinsing the curtains - make sure all the excess water is removed and hang them to air dry somewhere in the fresh air outside, or inside. It would be best if linen curtains could air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
Important: please note that improper use of any cleaning detergent or method may result in damaging your linen item. Make sure you always follow our official linen care guide carefully.
TIP: Lay out the linen curtains widely while air-drying them to prevent them from wrinkling. Also, let them dry up completely before you hang them again to get rid of any remaining smell of vinegar.

And that would be it! Removing the water stains from the linen curtains is super easy but, of course, takes time and patience. However, the precious look and extremely high-quality of linen are totally worth it!
